2010 Audi A4 Wagon

2010 Audi A4 WagonCritics admire the 2010 A4 Avant for its smooth powertrain and pleasing handling dynamics, as well as its attractive design and elegant interior accommodations. Best of all, its top-notch safety ratings make it a solid choice for families.

The new wagon features Quattro permanent all-wheel drive, increased ground clearance, and a reinforced underbody, letting you cruise the backroads like you do main street. Three engine options will be available at launch — a gasoline engine and two diesels, all turbocharged. Choose from a 211-hp 2.0-liter TFSI, 170-hp 2.0-liter TDI or 240-hp 3.0-liter TDI in six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

2010 Audi S4

2010 Audi S42010 Audi S4 The new Audi S4 arrives in the midst of a global economic slump. It was unveiled in October at the Paris show, where hybrids and electric vehicles stole the limelight, and it unashamedly advertises the motto Vorsprung durch Technik (Advancement through Technology) when everybody is talking low emissions and high mileage. Look closer, though, and the new S4 emerges as a surprisingly sensible proposition. It is expected to cost about the same as the car it replaces and it bristles with torque, yet it should deliver about 24 mpg overall (EPA figures haven\’t yet been released). At the same time, it\’s a tour de force that employs trick steering, chassis, and driveline setups to beam you from point A to point B quicker than some of its rivals.

A comparison of the basic engine specs of the old S4 and the new car does not bode well: only six cylinders instead of eight, 3.0 liters of displacement instead of 4.2 liters, 333 hp instead of 340 hp. Are we getting shortchanged here? We are not. Maximum torque, that crucial parameter for drivability, increases from 302 to 325 lb-ft, and it is now available between 2900 and 5300 rpm rather than peaking at 3500 rpm. And although the curb weight is about the same, Audi claims that the new S4 surges from 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds, outsprinting the old S4 by about half a second.

Audi A8 2010

Audi A8The current generation Audi A8 or otherwise coded the D3 has been with us since 2003. Only receiving a few minimal facelifts, it’s rivals, the Mercedes S-Class, Lexus LS, BMW 7-Series and everything that falls within the same category have all but moved on past facelifts and onto new models already. That’s a fact but the truth is, the design will have to stay on for at least another two years as the next generation ‘D4′ A8 isn’t due to arrive until 2010. A prototype has been spotted undergoing cold weather testing while hidden under the current D3 body. The first give away was that it was odd to see an almost obsolete model undergoing testing at such a late stage in its life cycle, and that it needed extended fender flares, a stretched wheelbase and wider track, what other visual cues could a trained eye need?

Audi A8 LeaseThe A8 will use an extended version of the modular platform used in the A4 but predictably will be built using more exclusive and exotic materials such as aluminum and magnesium to save weight and improve dynamics. The engine line up will very likely be the same as the current range, starting with the 2.8 liter petrol onto the middle class 4.2 liter V8 FSI and Audi’s all new 6 liter V12 TDI to top the segment.
