Audi has had a quite interesting history. Almost a century ago, German engineer August Horch was forced out of the company he himself found because of dispute and setup in competition. Moving on, he decided to form a new firm that would eventually be established as the Audi we know today. In 1932, the company merged with Horch, DKW, and Wanderer to form the Auto Union. The four overlapping rings logo is a representation of the different companies that make up the corporation. During the Second World War, the Auto Union plants were heavily bombed and some parts were destroyed. After much relocation and uncertainties, Audi finally settled in Ingolstadt, Bavaria.
