The Audi A5/S5 Cabriolet – the joy of open-top driving
Dynamic and wonderful to look at, the new A5 Cabriolet is a real Audi, and an especially exciting one at that. The four-seater with the fabric top combines a sporty character with the fascination of open-top driving, refined comfort, and great everyday utility. Seven powerful engines, an agile suspension and a wide range of high-end options make the new Audi model the most attractive mid-range convertible. The top-of-the-line model of Audi’s new family of convertibles is the S5 Cabriolet. The engine of the S5 Cabriolet is the newly developed, supercharged three-liter V6 with gasoline direct injection. Prices start at EUR 37,300 for the 1.8 TFSI with 118 kW (160 hp) and six-speed manual transmission. Delivery of the first A5 Cabriolet models will begin in the second quarter of 2009.
Like all open-top Audi models, the new A5 Cabriolet too has a classic fabric top – which endows it with a striking silhouette of dynamic elegance. The lightweight softtop opens in 15 seconds – and closes in 17 seconds. The fully automatic open/close drive comes as standard. An acoustic top is optionally available, which reduces wind noise almost to the hardtop level.
When opened, the Audi A5 Cabriolet top folds down so effectively that very little trunk space is used up – leaving 320 liters (11.3 cu ft) of unused storage volume, clearly the best value in its field of competitors. The softtop compartment lowers itself automatically when the top is opened. Read the rest of this entry »

2008 MTM Audi S5 GT Supercharged
Motoren Technik Mayer from Wettstetten, Germany, puts the Audi S5 under pressure. As “MTM GT Supercharged” the sporty coupe’s supercharged engine demonstrates impressive performance data. Together with bigger brakes, a coilover suspension and other minor changes, the result is an overall package which can take on the race track. Pressurized Watch out, when it gets loose! At the slightest pressure on the accelerator the MTM S5 GT Supercharged rockets forward with brute force. The compressor added to the Audi 4.2 liter V8 by MTM is what makes this possible. An MTM intercooler housing with integrated water cooling ensures that the engine can always generate maximum performance. Overall, instead of the stock 354 hp, there is now all of 505 horsepower at 7190 rpm available.
This makes an engine output of 120 hp per liter! The torque boost by 106 to 546 Nm emerges in vehement intermediate bursts, to which the driver can get addicted. The sprint from 0-100 km/h takes 4.3 seconds, turning many super sports cars green with envy. And up to its top speed of 300 km/h it can hold its own with any of them. The evenly powerful, dynamic power display is underscored by a flow-optimized stainless steel sports exhaust system. The goose pimple-raising sound is released by four tailpipes, each 90 mm in diameter.

2005 Audi A4 DTM Edition
A new road-going A4 sports Saloon developed by the Audi division responsible for the RS 4 and RS 6 quattros is to commemorate a landslide championship victory for Audi in the 2004 German Touring Car Masters (DTM).
Paying homage to the 460 bhp A4 DTM race car, with which Audi decisively won the driver, team and manufacturer trophies in the 2004 German Touring Car Masters (DTM), the A4 DTM Edition further emphasizes the sporting character of the A4 2.0 T FSI quattro Saloon on which it is based.
Audi high performance specialist division quattro GmbH modifies the directly fuel injected four-cylinder, 2.0-litre turbo FSI petrol engine, raising power from 200 bhp to 220 bhp and torque from 207 lb-ft to 221 lb-ft. This is reflected in the performance data, the A4 DTM capable of accelerating from rest to 62 mph in 7.1 seconds and of reaching a top speed of 155 mph where conditions allow.
