Audi Q7 2008 Safety Awards
The Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the Top Safety Pick award for 2008 to the Audi Q7, a luxury performance SUV. The luxury performance SUV came out on top as it received a ‘good’ rating in all three crash tests: side impact, offset frontal, and rear impact seat tests.
The Q7 isn’t the only Audi recognized this year for outstanding vehicle safety ratings. The Audi A3, A4 and A6 have also been recognized as Top Safety Picks for 2008, giving Audi the honor of having the most Top Safety Pick designations for any luxury automaker for 2008.

2010 Audi R8
A V10 Audi R8 R8 has been rumored for months, ever since the Lamborghini on which it is based got a high performance V10 in LP560 trim based on the 10 cylinder motors from the Audi R8 S6 and S8. For Audi R8 ’s halo supercar R8 model to carry a smaller and less powerful engine than the German luxury brand’s huge, cushy and overstyled largest luxury sedan was an injustice not fitting to the R8’s incredible capabilities and styling.

A continuously variable automatic transmission should be standard on front-drive 2.0Ts. 2.0T quattro models will likely be available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. 3.2 quattros should be automatic only. S4 sedans should be available in the fall of 2009 as 2010 models, and they will be powered by a 333-hp 3.0-liter supercharged V6 mated to either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic.
